For some of you, I had you at "District Conference!" You've attended before. You know the inspiration, the ideas, the friendships, and the chance to reconnect with Rotary friends you may only see once or twice a year.
Others may be wondering, "What's different about this one?"
Here's your first peek at Fusion 5650, our 2026 District Conference, taking place October 23-24 at the Strategic Air Command & Aerospace Museum in Ashland, Nebraska.
The name Fusion reflects our goal of bringing together the many facets of Rotary into one unforgettable experience. Clubs of every size, members with every level of experience, service leaders, foundation supporters, youth program advocates, and friends from across Nebraska and Iowa will come together to learn from one another, celebrate our accomplishments, and strengthen our connections.
A Venue Like No Other
The Strategic Air Command & Aerospace Museum provides an incredible backdrop for the conference. Imagine networking beneath the legendary SR-71 Blackbird, exploring exhibits with fellow Rotarians, and celebrating our district's achievements surrounded by some of the most remarkable aircraft in history.
This truly is a destination event...right in our own backyard.
Inspiring Speakers and New Ideas
We will kick off Friday with keynote speaker John Ockenfels, whose Rotary Flight to End Polio journey circled the globe in a single engine plane while raising more than $2 million for polio eradication. His story is one of service, perseverance, and Rotary's power to make a difference worldwide.
Throughout the conference, members will be able to explore topics that matter to today's Rotary clubs, including:
- Membership growth and engagement
- Vibrant and thriving clubs
- Strategic planning and club visioning
- Global grants and Foundation opportunities
- Rotary Youth Exchange and RYLA
- Rotary Leadership Institute
- Rotary Fellowships and Action Groups
- A special panel on Women in Rotary
- Rotary Means Business networking
Whether you're a new member or a long-time Rotarian, you'll leave with ideas you can take back to your club immediately.
Celebrate Rotary Friendship
Of course, District Conference isn't just about the sessions.
Friday evening we'll gather beneath the SR-71 for a networking reception and entertainment from Paul Harris and the Fellows, offering plenty of opportunities to reconnect with friends and make new Rotary connections across the district.
Then on Saturday evening, we'll conclude with our Fusion 5650 Awards Dinner in the museum hangar, celebrating the clubs and members who are making a lasting impact in their communities.
