March is here! 8 months into our Rotary year and District membership is up 33 members at 1,908 members. The trend is good and momentum is building. Here’s the top ten list with the net new members.

An encouraging trend is some clubs that lost membership earlier this year are slowly growing back and I’m sure will be positive by the end of the year. Congratulations to all and thank you for growing our District and Rotary!

Speaking of growing Rotary, our Lincoln clubs chartered a new Interact Club at Lincoln Southeast High School on February 18th with over 25 students as new members. Special thanks goes out to Bill Michener a member of Lincoln 14 who is the clubs adviser, Mailani Veney Lincoln 14 club president and Yolanda Hoffman, Rotaract-Interact Committee chair  for spearheading this new club.

Interact is a great way to get our youth involved in Rotary and is an excellent feeder for our RYLA program and Rotaract Clubs at the University level. I’m told another new club at Lincoln Southwest is in the works which is fantastic. If your town does not have an Interact Club, please think about getting one started in your local high school. Getting our youth involved in Rotary early will pay dividends well into the future.

2020 marks the 100th anniversary for six clubs in the District! They are:

Fairbury02/01/2020
Norfolk02/01/2020

Congratulations to all of these clubs. Serving your communities for 100 years is indeed a monumental milestone and one you can be extremely proud of.  See the District website for dates and times of their celebrations.
