Read more to see the RYLA student selection schedule and status. And, as Rotary Members there are opportunities for you to participate as volunteers or to audit sessions.
March 1st was the deadline for all applications; final vetting has begun. Students selected to join the online RYLA this year will be notified Monday, March 8, 2021. Expect invoices soon if you haven’t received one already. This year students will be mailed all materials in Early April. Plans are coming together nicely for the May 1 kick-off.

AUDIT RYLA
A number of our scheduled activities may be of interest to our District members and we invite anyone who wishes to audit these online activities. By audit we mean be present to listen and learn yet do not participate.  Participation is for students only. We can set up subsequent ZOOM sessions for District members if a discussion of our own is desired.

May 1 - Join us for Unpacking your Strengths.  Take your Clifton Strengths Assessment and join us online with Strengths Coach Monicki Cannon as she unpacks what your strengths mean and the challenge of your corresponding weaknesses.

Stop wondering what you’re good at. Start knowing with Gallup assessments. Gallup assessments identify your natural talents so you can perform better in your job, build stronger relationships and achieve personal growth. Our assessments are easy to take, and your results are available instantly.

May 8 and May 15 discussions of Representation Project documentaries will be held.
Two movies will be assigned as homework in preparation for each facilitated discussion. Watching parties will be scheduled for the students and we can schedule one for the membership as well if desired.

The Representation Project (TRP) is a leading global non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring all humans achieve their full potential, unencumbered by limiting gender norms. We use documentary films, education, and activism to shift the public’s attitudes and behavior around gender in order to transform culture. http://therepresentationproject.org/

May 29th Learn all about Ethical Decision Making and Ethical Leadership with a fun and interactive morning presented by the Business Ethics Alliance.

All activities will be Saturday Mornings from 9am - noon.

If you wish to attend online, please RSVP NO LATER THAN APRIL 19, 2021 to ryla@rotarydistrict5650.org.

VOLUNTEER PLEASE
We seek a male to facilitate (handbook supplied) the discussion of “The Mask You Wear,” Representation Project Documentary on May 15.

We seek 10 volunteers May 22nd to help implement our Extreme Event: Community Resilience. This project will require an online meeting or two prior to the event to learn roles and responsibilities. This event will be led by Warren Whitted III with the Omaha West Club.

The students will sometimes breakout into small groups. We seek Rotarians to be in each small group for support, encouragement, or problem solving. Dates have yet to be determined.
