Dear Rotarians of District 5650:

My name is Molly Prochaska, and I am a recipient of the Rotary Global Grant Scholarship for the 2022-2023 academic year. I wanted to write a letter expressing my gratitude for this investment in my future.

I am honored that Rotary has chosen me to act as a student representative among my peers abroad.

In the Spring of 2021, I graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Global Studies. During this time, I began heavily researching technology in global development and human rights, which compelled me to apply for graduate school.

Last Fall, I started a dual-degree graduate program with the Paris Institute of Political Studies, known as Sciences Po, and the London School of Economics and Political Science. I finished my first year at Sciences Po this May. I will arrive in London in September.

At the end of this program, I will have a Masters in International Governance and Diplomacy and a Masters of Sciences in International Relations. After my studies, I will seek positions in public organizations where I can work hands-on in development and humanitarian work. I am especially interested in opportunities where I can focus on leveraging technology to reinforce human rights and human security.

Rotary’s investment in my future gives me greater flexibility in my academic and career plans. I am thrilled to have made this connection with Rotary, and I intend to maintain my involvement with the organization beyond my studies. Rotary Global Grants are a fantastic way to engage passionate young people and facilitate their studies in fields that resonate with Rotary’s causes.

Again, I am deeply grateful to be chosen as a Global Grant Scholar. Thank you to everyone who has made this possible, and, more personally, thank you to every Rotary member who has helped me through the process of obtaining the grant.

Sincerely,
Molly Prochaska
