Like in many sports, Rotary has a pre-season. For us it begins in mid-January and runs through March. Our pre-season is designed to prepare us leaders for the upcoming Rotary year that begins July 1st. Here is how it breaks down for this pre-season:
January 17-February 19
Pre-work for the District Team Training Seminar (online self-paced)
January 25-March 19
Pre-work for the Presidents-Elect (online self-paced)
February 1-11
International Assembly for District Governors-Elect (virtual)
February 20
District Team Training Seminar for all District leaders (virtual)
March 20
President-Elect Training Seminar for all club Presidents-Elect (virtual)
President Nominees are welcome too!

Yep, that will work up a sweat and get our energy going for the 2021-22 Rotary year!

Don’t worry, if somehow your feel excluded from this “pre-season” training…I have a challenge for you… go to myrotary.org (if you haven’t set up your account, please do, every Rotarian has access). Under Learning & Reference you will find the Learning Center. There you will find a wide array of FREE online courses (most only take a few minutes—less than they note). If I may suggest, look under the Professional Development category, two of my favorites include “Uncovering Unconscious Bias” and “Leading Change.”

Like my fitness trainer is known for saying, “Get it, Get it!”

By the way…no one sent in an answer to win the prize from last months article. So when I said, “DON”T PANIC” and “the comfort of your bathrobe”, they were both references to the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy (both a series of books and a movie). I really hate it when I have to explain one of my jokes! 🤪
